Andile Poswa was born and bred in the dusty streets of New Brighton, P.E. on the 06th August 1979, from the province of aloe Eastern Cape, South Africa. He comes from the family of five him being the only son among two sisters. He realized his artistic ability in a young age but unfortunately he never received any formal art education until he reached tertiary education. He used to perform and sing at his school's events. He passed matric in 1998 and started informal free art classes in his neighbourhood and the schools around home. He went on to studied Fine Arts in 2001 majoring in visual arts, painting, ceramics and computer graphics. He only studied two years and jump straight to the field in 2003 getting his first big job commissioned by an NGO Ubuntu Education Fund to paint murals at their offices all the schools they work with around P.E. He got assisted by this institution with space to run his art program having more kids from different schools. He also organized exhibitions at his local library from his kids as well extended the invitation to fellow artists from 2003 - 2006. Andile started a clothing line called Sk'umba Urban Natives Clo with a friend and it was a household brand in P.E from 2003 to 2007 dressing local and national musicians. He exhibited in major galleries around P.E as well Guichard gallery in USA. In 2005 a documentary was made about him and two fellow artists living in P.E which played on national television. Later on in 2007 he worked with the same production SoulTraxx as soundman on another documentary commissioned by SABC. Andile formed a reggae band called Fountain in 2009 with his fellow brothers and they performed around P.E as well Eastern Cape at different venues and festivals.
He was the drummer as well a singer for the band. He later 2009 converted his one room to be a recording studio him working as a producer and a beat maker. In 2012 he released his first solo project, a single called Rastaman achant which introduced him in the Reggae community. The single got lot of radio air play and towards the end of 2013 he released the full album called Soul Connection which he promoted in different shows and festivals like Grahamstown National Arts Festival. He focused on his solo career as a singer backed by Third Generation band from Uitenhage, 20 kilometres from P.E. At the beginning of 2014 Andile went on to study Film and Television Production course. Only this year he worked as a soundman on three short films, two student films and a sitcom called Isongololo which is currently playing on national channel. He is also working as an intern at Bay tv which is a local station of this city also known as Nelson Mandela Bay. He does camera work as well sound and he's busy shooting his brainchild Reggae music show called Isingqi SamaRasta, him being the producer as well presenter for the show which will air late January 2015
