Christopher “Zabrick” Reid , one of Portland’s finest, now residing in Portmore for over twelve years, is a Reggae Dancehall Artiste penetrating the musical world both locally and on a international level. Zabrick’s love for music was formulated at a tender age when he was a choir singer at Windsor Castle Church. He also performed concerts at Black Hill School during his youthful years.
Once he moved to Portmore, Zabrick attended stage shows, clubs and dances where networked with Vybz Kartel, Frisco Kid, Mega Banton and Terror Fabulous. His career got a kick start when he met Mr. Wong at a stage show in Portsmouth. While being a study of Mr. Wong, he developed and affinity toward performing and developed a collaboration with Gyptian. Zabrick voiced Gyptian at the studio on a demo song called Keep You Calm and also starred in Gyptian’s music video Serious Times which was Gyptians first hit. He also voiced Gyptian the song New Born on the New Baan Riddim.
In 2006, Zabrick earned the label of an energetic performer when he stepped his foot on the stages of Sting 2006, West Kingston Jamboree, and Follow The Arrow and other shows locally.
His biggest successes so far are are singles titled African Queen which is a video and is edited by Nordia Rose for a Russian producer, Stop The Violence which was produced by Zabrick , Queng Queng which was produced by Ranks Production in Switzerland, Wicked Brother which was produced by Blakspade Label, and a new release with UK based Peppa Hot called Wine Up Mi Body on the MSF label.
All eyes are now on his upcoming hit video Clap Like A Thunder by Stickle Productions. Other recent releases include Love Time on the Reset Riddim with Gully Bop, Realest Yute on Sta888link riddim. Accolades include 3rd place in the Angel Eyes Magnum Kings and Queen 2015, and an award at Iyara Portland Award show July 3, 2015.
It should be duly noted, that not only is Zabrick a producer and artiste, but also serves as a positive impact and role model in the community mentoring many in the music fraternity to the likes of Fyahkin, Ataru, King Ico, Angel Eyes, Rhymesta, Lemo D , Jah Gahyah and Pepa Hot.
