Issus du même quartier, ils ont développé chacun de leur côté des influences musicales très diverses. Mota Favela baigne dans le reggae, la musique latine ou le dance-hall, Rool est plus orienté vers le blues, la soul ou le funk. C'est cependant autour d'un goût commun pour les textes engagés distillés avec des flows ravageurs et des instrus rythmés aux sonorités acoustiques que se retrouvent les deux artistes. L'idée de ce projet est apparue naturellement. Un texte de Mota qui passe bien sur une grille de Rool, puis d'autres textes sur d'autres grilles. Ensemble, ils enregistrent une première maquette acoustique puis s'entourent d'un batteur, d'une section cuivre et d'un clavier qui enrichiront considérablement cet opus. Cet album présente de multiples facettes, un vrai voyage entre l'Europe et l'Amérique latine en passant par la Caraïbe. La nostalgie côtoie l'espoir, la mélancolie flirte avec l'allégresse, c'est le rassemblement de toutes ces énergies qui aboutit à ce projet de caractère aux nombreuses couleurs.
